Couples Therapy

Do you ever have one of those moments when you are arguing with your partner and your heart sinks? When no matter how hard you try to work things out, your words seem to widen the rift between you and make you feel further away than ever. It’s a horrible and disorienting feeling.

I want to reassure you about two things: first, know that you are not the only couple this is happening to ,you are not alone ,second, there is a way to break this deadlock. I can help you change the way you share feelings and to trust each other again.

I’ve been a therapist for over twenty five years and in that time many couples have sought my help because they have hit an impasse like you have and don’t know how to move on. I guarantee you that every single couple can find themselves stuck in the same old argument, one that never seems to go anywhere and one which recurs over and over again. They want to break the cycle but are confused about how to do that and so the loop goes round once more.

However, many couples are able to move on. The reason they can do this is because they know how to repair their relationship and connect after an argument. They understand their partner’s needs at a profound level. In therapy I will be aiming to help you to reach a deeper connection and develop ways of breaking the cycle and grow closer together.

Through a comprehensive assessment, I will be guiding you to understand the origins of unmet needs which you can experience with your partner. Moreover, how you learn to cope which creates triggers for you both. You will learn to recognise when you are getting drawn into a disconnection cycle and what you can do about it. I want you to know that instead of feeling lonely in your relationship, there is a way to turn towards your partner instead and get the love, support and friendship that you deserve.
